Wigan St Judes 12-20 East Hull
BARLA Cup Holders East Hull came away with the spoils with a 20 12 win At Wigan St Judes. East broke the deadlock on 5 minuets with a Scott Yeaman goal. Both defence were on top at this point then on 15 minuets Judes leveled the scores with a Scott Robinson goal.  On 25 minuets a Lee Roberts try and Yeaman goal put east 8-2 lead. On 38 minuets Judes hit back with another Scott Robinson goal half time 4-8. On 50 minuets Judes got back in the game with a Scott Robinson goal. On 55 minuets East hit back with a Gary Weymes try goal again by Yeaman. East Hull incresed their lead further on 60 minuets with a Mike Handelby try goal Yeaman 6-20. At this point East were well on top Judes had the final say in the scoreing matters with a 78th minuet carl jones try goal by Darrell King.
Man of the Match for Judes was Paul Pendlebury.

St Pats kick started their season with a thumping win over a spirited Thornhill. Half backs Anthony Atherton and Ian Schofield being in the thick of all they produced. In fact long balls from Atherton and Schofield unlocked the opposition defence for Sean O’Neill to break clear and score, Schofield inside ball to Rasburn saw the evergreen forward barge over for the Wigan sides seconds then an Atherton half break saw Mike Alker in support to crash over for his sides third. Schofield converting 2 of the tries for a 16-0 half time lead.
Pats knew they needed to get on the scoreboard first in order to put the game to bed and obliged with 2 tries from Schofield in the first 3 minuts, his opener a last tackle run of the ball and interplay between Atherton, Schofield, Parker and Mason.  His second a set moved and delayed ball from Atherton to split the home defence again. Both tries were converted.
The next 3 tries cam in a blistering 7 minute spell with O’Neill notching up his second following the ball being spun though several pairs of hands, Andy Parker then got his first following an Atherton kick and majestic reverse pass from Danny Mason to wrong foot the defence and Parker’s 2nd came 4 minutes later following a Lee Peacock bust through the centre of the defence and comitting the fullback to give Parker the simplest of touchdowns. Schofiled added the extras the 4 of the tries to take his personal tally to 20 points.

York Acorn’s pack dominated throughout as they marched onwards to make their record read 4 wins from 4 attempts and average 34 points per game which is highlighting their attacking prowess. Impressive performances this week came from half backs Andy Gargan and Darren Callaghan with Jonny Liddel taking the Man of The Match plaudits guiding around the strong and dominating pack.

Hull Dockers marched on to an impressive victory making it 4 form 4 and a great opening month for them. Aaran Bradley was a real thorn in Leigh East’s side with good go forward and punishing defence.  The plaform laid yeilded tries for Robbie Smith, Steve Sellars, Danny Ulyatt and Jon Eccles, Chris Stevenson ever reliable with the boot added 5 goals.

Oulton went down due to lack of composure in the last 20 minutes. Leading 23-20 they conceded 20 points in the last quarter to reward their gutsy effort with and unfortunate lack of league points. Oulton were best served by Captain Carlos Sanchez and Scott McDonald.
